Recently, there was a shift in television broadcasting from analog to digital. There is now the emergence of smart TVs that do not require an external decoder. Also, there are machines that make work easier like the washing machines, dryers and remote controls.

Industrial Technology

Technology is widely used in the manufacturing sector in producing and packaging of products. Also, it is becoming widely used in the manufacturing of cars whereby they are shifting from fuel cars to electronic cars. Also, manufacturing companies now use carbon absorbers to convert excess carbon from their operations.

Medical Technology

Technology has taken a positive turn in the field of medicine whereas it is now easy to scan and screen people for various illnesses and prescribe treatments. The use of gadgets like the ventilators which aid people with breathing difficulties is also an advancement. Also, it is playing a major role in research on the new diseases and their possible treatment and keeping records as much as easing the computing in the medical setup.

Lubrication Technology

To have proper working machines and equipment, one needs to observe the following guidelines. One, is to stay aboard the training required to operate it, lubricate the machine frequently and be sure to remove used oils. Three, check regularly for any signs of wear so that proper repair may be done where necessary. Four, keep all the machines and equipment clean. This is by thoroughly cleaning and lubricating them after use. Five, keep a proper record of the repair and maintenance schedules. Make it a point to routinely repair your machines.

Communication Technology

Communication technology could simply be defined as the passing of information from one party to the other. This sector has greatly change with time from the traditional human messengers to the now improved gadgets like phones, tablets and apps like skype and WhatsApp that enable people to communicate in videos. Information is becoming integrated through the web and accessible to people through search engines.

Televisions

The concept of TVs was the work of numerous individuals in the 19th and the beginning of 20th century centuries. Over the years, the technology of TVs evolved with the main aim of enhancing the customer experience. Compared to people in the past, individuals nowadays expect a more fully-immersive experience; one that improves what they are seeing on screen and envelopes them in its narrative. Fortunately for modern consumers, the recent years has seen many new and exciting TV technologies enter the fray. One such technology is HDMI 2.1. This new technology allows for both 8K 60Hz and 4K 120HZ content that bring a big boost to either resolution or responsiveness (Clarke et al., 20). In particular, it supports a variety of high resolutions and refresher rates that are faster. These features allow for viewing that is immersive and smooth action detail. The technology has resolutions of up to 10k that can support commercial AV, and specialty and industrial usages. Notably, the High Definition Multimedia Interface also offers high definition video through a tiny cable and eliminates the need for those huge SCART connectors that utilized to trail behind televisions.
Other specific features of the HDMI 2.1 are:
• A dynamic HDR (High Dynamic Range) support that makes sure that each moment of a video is shown at its perfect value for detail, depth, contrast, brightness and broader color gamuts-on a frame-by-frame or even a scene-by-scene basis. For instance, the HDR enables a wider variety of colors in contents like games and movies. It also gives a TV additional information regarding what to do with the signal that it is getting. Instead of reading a sole set of instructions for the whole film, dynamic metadata provides the television with continuous updates regarding how to tweak the image on-screen to make it look its best (Docter 73).
• An Ultra High Speed HDMI cable that bolsters the 48G bandwidth for uncompressed HDMI 2.1 quality support. It is also important to note that the cable has an EMI emission that is very low and is backwards compatible with previous versions of the HDMI Specification and can be utilized with HDMI gadgets that are already present.
• Auto Low latency Mode (ALLM)-a majority of TVs now encompass many types of extra processing to smooth out motion, enhance the quality of pictures, and even enhance the clarity of audio. Whereas some of this is appreciated when watching TV and films, for gamers, it leads to the introduction of latency (lag) (Docter 74). The Game mode purpose is to switch to this when fastest possible response times from the TV are wanted; however, the main problem is many televisions require the Game mode to be turned on and off manually-ALLM eliminates the need to do this. A TV with HDMI 2.1 comprehends that a person is utilizing a supported console, and as such, ALLM will disable any additional processing that may introduce lag.
• Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC)-this makes it possible for a person to send audio over to the soundbar or surround receiver without an extra optical audio cable. Whether one is watching Netflix, watching Blu-ray, or playing a game on a console, ARC makes sure that the audio is delivered to the correct output (Clarke 21).
From the above described features of HDMI 2.1, it is evident that this technology is going to improve the overall customer experience in a great way.

Virtual Reality

Recall watching movies about virtual reality (VR) and thinking how awesome it would be if it was really like that in real life? Well, that has been made possible. Even though VR has been present for decades now, up till lately, the technology did not have the ability to provide the whole immersive digital experience people have been yearning. That has changed with recent enhancements to both hardware and programming. Further, these improvements have led to new and interesting trends in the technology. The article in focus reveals the top technology trends in VR as revealed by GlobalData. One such trend is custom silicon. This is where developers are creating custom chips for VR devices. Another trend is the 3D audio, and the increasing demand for untethered headsets have led to the use of digital signal processors in the development of the VR technology so as to enhance the audio quality (MTS Staff Writer).
Artificial intelligence is yet another trend. AI is increasingly being used in VR to improve the virtual characters’ intelligence and providing a rich immersive environment. Another trend relates to the cloud. The increase in the volume of the data generated by VR will lead to an increase in cloud services to store data, apps, and memory in servers (MTS Staff Writer). Other trends as highlighted in the article include conversational platforms, 5G, untethered VR and app development.
Evidently, the VR technology has made great strides. It is important to note that most of these improvements are aimed at enhancing the overall human experience with the technology. As a result, people will increasingly be able to have the full immersive experience in the virtual environment. I believe that the technology will continue to evolve to meet the growing human needs, and as such, we should expect a more sophisticated VR technology in the future.

Web Development XP

I’ve been developing for the web for the past four years and I have created and hosted several sites. I have learned about ASP.NET, PHP, JavaScript, CMS, CSS and HTML. I would like to learn other languages to strengthen my web development portfolio and to create awesome websites that help anybody get things done or get information they are searching for.

What Do I Do Now?

Currently I work as a Personal Computer Technician for SAS Software in Cary. I am coming up on two years in this position. I work on pretty much any electronic hardware that SAS employees use, I have done some On-call days for said hardware, and even a few days working for the IT Infrastructure Service Desk/Data Center Operations. On the way through these years I have automated and made mine and others jobs more efficient using the knowledge that started with what I learned at Wake Technical Community College and also that I have learned on my own through the last five or so years.
